As the World Association FIFA announced on Thursday on DPA request, the Ukrainian Association has filed a request. FIFA is in regular contact with the European Football Union and the Scottish Association to find a reasonable solution. The Ukraine is scheduled to play in Glasgow against Scotland on March 24th. The winner then meets Austria or Wales to play a place at the World Cup at the end of the year in Qatar. The football championship in Ukraine has been exposed to the country about a week since the invasion of Russia. Russia has been excluded from all competitions because of the military invasion and will therefore not participate in the World Cup playoffs. The 2018 World Cup host should also have played against Poland on March 24th.
