Bayer Leverkusen: Florian Wirtz probably fails until 2023
Trainer Gerardo Seoane from Bayer 04 Leverkusen assumes a failure of Florian Wirtz until 2023. The 19-year-old midfielder suffered a cruciate ligament tear in March.
“If he gets healthy and can still train, he may get a mission. But I will not expect Florian until 2023,” said Seoane of the dpa. Due to the World Cup in Qatar, the winter break of the Bundesliga begins in mid -November.
Leverkusen’s trainer did not want to rule out a World Cup mission: “It may be that he is there and then it is the decision of the national coach.” According to its observations, the previous rehab is going well.

“In the beginning he was already disappointed. And it is clear that he needed some distance after the operation,” said Seoane. “It worries him that he cannot stand on the pitch. To have to watch the games are the worst. In terms of his personality and soul, we have a good feeling.”
